Being a company working with natural resources we feel committed to environmental care.

First of all we wish to remind or bring to your knowledge that Export activity from the tropical forest countries only represents 4% of the total timber cut. The major problem that developing countries need to face is the demographic pressure leading to an increasing and uncontrolled use of fire wood (representing today 84% of all timber cut)*.

We are also proud to promote the most environmental friendly way to use wood: veneer. Veneer being the thinest wood cutting method, a single log allows to cover thousands of square meters.

However , the impact of our activity on the environment shall not be minimized. Therefore to put our environmental policy into practice, Soboplac is doing its utmost to use species that are easily sustainable and that come from government controlled and managed forests.



Also, SOBOPLAC recently acquired a forest to support the environment-oriented forest management.
It is our common interest to make sure wood and forests are made sustainable.
